I’m Nicholas the son of Ethel Geraldine Kennealy (Grant) and need to correct and add some details to the above blog. It is true my mother didn’t contact her family in Ireland for a long time but she was in contact with her sister Mary (Konky) Maher. In fact she was staying at Mary’s house before my birth in 1946 and also afterwards. I have a vague memory of meeting my Grandfather Peter. Mother married Bill Grant in 1954 in Taunton, Somerset when I was six. We moved to London in 1960 and we have never lived in Battersea, also Bill worked for British Cellophane. My mother died on the 6th November 1989 in Middleton-on-Sea, West Sussex and her sister Marna came across from the USA also present was Michael Kennealy (Tony’s son) unfortunately other members of the family were prevented from attending due to bad weather This comment was made 14th December 2015

Nemesisone reply thank you for that all of this type of auxiliary information in regard the Kennealy family was based on what the Kennealy’s said and it was always prefaced as such. The factual information has been based on searches done such as for confirmation of the link between those two surnames to that family see a registration of a Mary P Kennedy born 1939 registered 1939 and registered under Patricia F Kennealy last quarter 1952 That was the person interred in the Kennealy grave Glasnevin 1984 and was said to be the youngest sister of the Kennealy’s

The reference to Battersea was that three people Niamh, Aideen and Derval White went to London in the late 1960’s and it was said they stayed with Geraldine Grant in Battersea London and there is a picture in the White Household at Trafalgar Square of the three of them and Gavin Grant with the pigeons, so that type of auxiliary information was based on what they said and picture they showed and the White family were the ones who said where Bill Grant worked. In regard Michael Kennealy is was said by the Kennealy sisters he was Joseph Kennealy’s son along with a brother and two sisters

In regard Marna who was Bridget Carmel Kennealy Nemesisone found Edith M Mitchell and Bruce R Mitchell on a Queen Mary Shipping list 1948 under the Kennedy registration there was an Edith Marjorie Carmel Kennedy in 1926 There had been an admittance that Frances Kennealy won about €12,000 on the sweepstakes in the 1940’s could it have been Carmel?

A person who did a genealogy search on the White family was Anna Mc Bride daughter of Sean Mc Bride who was married to Declan White a cousin of Kevin White she died in Portiuncula hospital 2011 although from Dublin that hospital is where Bernard Barton brother John Barton is a consultant and a hospital where her father and Kevin White were directors in the 1980’s

That search could have established the intricacies of the White family and any connections to the Brassil’s Kevin White mother maiden name As Nemesisone found under the name White three birth and one death registrations for the years 1955, 1957, 1958, and 1962 All the children were born in Birmingham Warwickshire or Harrow Middlesex all with one Christian name that was the same to all The child who died was born in Warickshire death registration Middlesex These two counties have already been mentioned before on this blog

Nemesisone found an engineering company set up in 1985 now dissolved based in Bagnallstown Similarities to the construction company set up by Paul and Edith Forrest in 2002 dissolved in 2012 Edith Forrest correct name was Linda P Jefferes according to their marriage certificate her father was a Leonard Jefferes who died about three months after Mary Maher Kennedy in 1998 he it appears was in the RAF

Josephine Chambers death registration is under Josephine Foley and that might explain why the sacristan in Ballyduff was given money not to give out information according to the person Nemesisone asked to make inquiries in Ballyduff.

In regard the woman buried up in Cloone Leitrim posting 1st November 2014 Now a search done under the maiden name Smyth there are births of two sons born in the early 1950’s this woman birth registration Isabella Mmeekin Smyth and her sons are not related to the Kennealy family, by marriage or as cousins. Margaret Delaney’s who died in 1994 buried in Cloone Leitrim death registration is in Hasting and Rother, the same county the Mary Ellen Kennedy’s 1998 death registration was in.
